Terms of Service

By creating an account or using per.hr (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you use per.hr for a business, you agree to them on that business's behalf and confirm you have the authority to do so.

per.hr is software for tracking time, sending estimates and invoices, and collecting payments, for individuals and teams. We improve the Service over time and may change or retire features; when a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we'll tell you in advance.

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us right away about any unauthorized access.
• You're responsible for what happens under your account and in workspaces you own.

• Free has no charge. Pro and Team are paid in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renew automatically until canceled. Current prices are on the pricing page.
• Team is billed to the team's owner. The base price covers the first 3 people; each person after that is billed separately, and the bill adjusts, prorated, as people join or leave. The first 2 viewers are free. While the Team plan is active and paid, its owner also has Pro in their own workspace; if the owner already pays for Pro, that subscription is canceled when the Team plan starts and the unused time is refunded.
• You can cancel anytime. You keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free; your data stays, and nothing is deleted because you downgraded.
• Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. Taxes are added where they apply.
• We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before a price change takes effect for your plan.
• If a payment fails, we may limit paid features until it's resolved.

When you collect payments through per.hr, the money goes to your own Stripe or PayPal account (or your team's), under that provider's terms. per.hr adds no fee on top of theirs.

per.hr isn't a party to the work or the payments between you and your clients. You're responsible for your invoices, your pricing, any taxes you owe, refunds and disputes with your clients.

• Payments go straight from your client to your Stripe or PayPal account. per.hr never receives, holds or passes along that money. Stripe and PayPal verify the accounts involved and process each payment under their own terms and acceptable use policies, which you agree to follow.
• You handle refunds, disputes and chargebacks in your Stripe or PayPal account. Marking an invoice paid or unpaid in per.hr doesn't move money.
• We may limit online payments, for example to a maximum amount per invoice, and we may turn them off for any account while we review a report or if Stripe or PayPal asks us to.
• If Stripe, PayPal or a legal authority asks about a payment made through per.hr, we may share the invoice and account details connected to it.

• A team is its own workspace. Its clients, projects, time and invoices belong to the team, under the control of its owner.
• The owner and admins decide who's on the team and which clients and projects each member works on. Members see only what they're given, without rates or money.
• Time someone logs for a team stays with the team when they leave it.
• The owner can transfer the team to an admin, or delete it once it has no invoices, estimates or recurring schedules.

You agree to use per.hr lawfully and honestly. In particular, you won't:

• Send invoices or estimates for work you didn't do, or pose as another person or business
• Send email through per.hr to people who haven't done business with you
• Upload malware or content you don't have the right to share
• Try to access accounts or data that aren't yours, or disrupt the Service
• Resell the Service without our written permission
• Use per.hr's payments for anything illegal or that Stripe or PayPal prohibit, including moving money that isn't payment for your own goods or services, laundering money or evading sanctions

Recipients can report a sender they don't recognize. We review reports and may limit or close accounts that misuse the Service.

You own the data you put into per.hr. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the Service for you, including sending the emails and invoices you ask us to send. You can export it anytime. How we handle personal information is in our Privacy Policy.

You can delete your account in Settings → Security. When you do:

• Any Pro subscription you pay for is canceled.
• Your personal clients, projects and time are deleted, unless you have invoices or estimates; those are kept as financial records.
• Time you logged for a team stays with that team.
• If you own a team, you'll need to transfer it or delete it first.

Deleted data may remain in backups for a limited time, and we keep records where the law requires us to.

We work to keep per.hr available and your data safe, but we can't promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of records you're required to keep; exports are always available.

To the fullest extent the law allows, per.hr isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.

You agree to cover per.hr against claims that arise from your use of the Service, your work for your clients, or your breach of these terms.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Unless the reason is fraud or abuse, we'll give you a chance to export your data first.

When we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use per.hr after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
