Questions

How Do I Turn an Hourly Rate Into a Day Rate?

Multiply the hourly rate by the hours in your working day. $75 per hour for an 8-hour day is $600 per day.

How Do I Turn a Day Rate Into an Hourly Rate?

Divide the day rate by the hours in the day. A $600 day over 8 hours is $75 per hour; over 7.5 hours it's $80.

Why Does the Year Leave Out Weeks Off?

A day rate only earns on days you work. Vacation, holidays and sick days aren't billed, so the year counts 52 weeks minus your weeks off. With 4 weeks off, $600 per day for 5 days per week is 48 × $3,000 = $144,000, not 52 × $3,000 = $156,000.
