Questions

How Do I Calculate Utilization?

Divide billable hours by hours worked. 28 billable hours in a 40-hour week is 70% utilization.

What's a Good Utilization Rate?

Many freelancers and agencies aim for 60% to 80% of working hours. Admin, sales and learning take the rest; 100% is rarely sustainable.

Should I Use Hours Worked or Hours Available?

Either, as long as you're consistent. Hours worked shows how much of your work was billable; hours available (say 40 per week) also counts slow weeks.
